Complex oil and gas projects will more than present be focused on margins and capacity limits during
the next years to come. To cope with energy demands the number of installations will escalate
and capacity for both new buildings and maintenance will compete on the Norwegian continental shelf.
Complex projects in the construction industry and in the on-shore based industry are also challenged on
cost and margins through a more open global competition.
The need for better collaboration between operators and suppliers, as well as internally in projects, will
emerge as a consequence of these trends.
Initiatives for cost and capacity improvement must be based on a systematical and realistic approach.
